May Creator Recap

Last month I worked 4+ hours every day.

Don't get me wrong I loved every second of it.

I was "productive". It's one of the reasons why last month was so successful.

Here's a quick recap of what happened last month:

• Landed 4 clients

• Worked on a new offer

• Started learning marketing

But the energy spent doing those activities meant I was sacrificing creativity.

I was writing a newsletter talking about what I've learned about leverage, marketing, and offer creation and wanted to share them with you but couldn't.

I couldn't finish it because I lacked creativity. The creativity that allowed me to connect the dots.

It was going to be one of my most value-packed emails but now I need to put it on hold.

But all of that work didn't only affect my writing, it also affected my life.

I don't have the energy to talk to people and feel like I need to sleep all day (thankfully I still go workout every day it's the only thing keeping me sane).

Creativity isn't like productivity.

It's not something you can force. Rather creativity needs rest and a lot of free time to allow your subconscious mind to wander and connect the dots for you.

And if you’re building a creator business then you need to give your mind a break from all the constant stimulation and consumption — your business depends on you being able to create (something that’s unique). That’s what makes a creator successful.

This newsletter might seem a little all over the place, but I'm writing this with very little post-editing.

I'm keeping my raw thoughts here, cuz I want to invite you and see what the life of a creator looks like (behind all the social media posts).

What I'm trying to say here is that there's no newsletter this week (unless you have a topic you want me to cover).

I don't want to force a "bad" newsletter out just so I can say "I've been consistent".

So let's make a deal you and I. You hold me accountable and make sure I never work more than 3 hours a day and I'll do the same with you.
