Does posting more lead to faster growth?
Last week, I was on a call with a few creators (some are big, and some are small).
A topic we came across is:
How often should you be posting online to grow?
This reminded me of when I first started posting on X.
There are a bunch of people telling you how often and when you should be posting.
Growth gurus telling you to post 3x tweets per day and 2x threads a week
Some creators tell you to post 1 tweet a day and focus on sending DMs to grow
Bigger creators telling you it doesn’t matter how often you should be posting
So you end up feeling more confused than before. And I don’t blame you.
We live in an age where we have more access to information than ever.
If you go on Google and search “how to bake a cake” you’ll find dozens of ways to bake a cake.
Does this mean you should do them all?
No.
The same thing applies to posting online.
And this is coming from someone who used to obsess over his posting schedule.
Hell, I used to obsess over it so badly to the point where I used to write 21 tweets (3 tweets/day for a week) in a single 1-hour writing session.
A mix of actionable advice, story, and personality tweets.
I saw some growth (60-80 followers per month), not bad, but not great either.
This month, I posted 1-2x a day (mainly sticking to story tweets with a valuable lesson).
The result?
120 followers in 28 days — faster than before.
Here’s what I learned about how often you should post online:
It doesn’t matter how often you post. What matters is sharing big ideas that are worth following.
Posting platitudes and generic advice 10x a day won’t help you grow faster or establish any authority.
It’s a matter of quality vs quantity.
If you’re tired of posting 5x a day, try to post less, but better.
Hope this helps,
Hussain
PS:
You learn what works by experimenting with advice. I’ve bought countless courses and tested tonnes of methods to find what works for me as a new creator.
Inside The Modern Creator, I help you share your big idea in a tweet and attract strangers to your brand.
If you’re struggling to decide what types of content you should write and how often, you’ll love section 11 of The Modern Creator. It launches in 24 hours.
