Selling without authority
Why being a beginner is your unfair advantage
Steve Jobs dropped out of college and built the most valuable company in the world, Apple.
Thomas Eddison went to college for 3 months but his ideas light up the world.
Pasteur was a chemist but he went on to create vaccines and cure diseases.
Wright Brothers built the first airplane but had 0 experience in aviation.
Their stories serve as a reminder for us:
You don't need to be an expert to succeed.
I'd also argue being a beginner is an advantage.
You get to have the freedom to try new things without having any pressure (which leads you to find new trends, innovate, and find ways to improve something old).
But experts don't have that luxury.
They're always expected to perform well so they keep repeating what they've always done—So they hit a plateau and fail in the end.
But if people like Steve, Eddisn, Pastuer, and the Wright Brothers let their lack of qualifications stop them, the world be in a much worse place
And the same is true with starting a newsletter.
People think they don't have enough authority to start a newsletter.
So they hide in the shadows even though they have something interesting to share.
But the truth is, on the internet, nobody cares about qualifications.
People only care about your curiosity.
“Code and media are permissionless leverage. They're the leverage behind the newly rich.”
With digital media (writing newsletters) you don't need permission to start.
If you have something you believe in or a skill you love, you have a moral obligation to create content.
For me, writing was the biggest magnet of opportunities.
Worked with the biggest creators in the space. Worked as a marketer for a CEO (even though I had 0 'real' qualifications). The only reason why I was able to get those opportunities was because I was writing about them in my emails.
Writing online is your best chance to get paid doing what you love.
But this doesn't happen if you're watching from the sidelines.
Just like all the greats, you have to get your hands dirty—even if it feels awkward.
At first, it'll feel like you're posting to the void.
How do I know this?
Cuz I've been there.
I've been writing for this newsletter for 14 months.
Every day, I'd learn, write, build projects, launch offers, and watch them fail, and try again, until I started seeing some success.
But now I'm grateful to say I almost have a combined audience of 5,300 people reading my content and able to make a living doing what I love.
It still sounds surreal to me. I mean just 3 weeks ago I was at 900…
But here's one thing I learned from my unexpected growth spurt:
You don't start a newsletter because you're an expert. You start one because you want to become one.
But you don't need to waste 14 months to start seeing success with writing.
You can speed up the learning curve by educating yourself.
4 weeks ago I picked up Magnetic Emails and my emails have never been better.
So when I heard Kieran was re-opening the doors for it, I asked him if I could be an affiliate because of how much I loved it.
And I'm happy to say that he just opened the doors for Magnetic Emails again today.
The course helped me sell more with my email (without being a sell-out), grow my email list, and most importantly, write story-based emails that build trust with my readers.
But if you're uncertain about your ability to write, you don’t need to worry.
Module 2 is all about giving you a 6-step process that'll help you go from a blank page to a fully polished email that's ready to be sent in 40 minutes or less.
Not to mention you'll have an editing checklist next to you.
And if you pick up Magnetic Emails before Tuesday (November 5th) you'll get 2 exclusive bonuses:
1) An Ecosystem of Emails
Get to see the behind-the-scenes of Kieran's welcome sequence that makes him $5-$15k/mo on autopilot and discover how you can do the same for your business.
2) 7 Strategies to Scale Your List from 0 to 1,000 Subscribers and Beyond
Discover 7 simple strategies that lead to the most growth with the least effort. I used some of the strategies and it's one of the reasons why I was able to 4x my newsletter in 3 weeks.
If this sounds like your cup of tea:
If not, then keep on writing and showing up daily.
The journey is worth every word.

P.S:
Out of 198 people, 54.55% are yet to launch their newsletter because they "don't have enough authority".
But that's like wanting to put on 10kg of muscle without going to the gym.
You become the thing by doing the thing.
That's why in lesson 3, module 1, Kieran talks about "The Explorer". It's one of four newsletter archetypes and it's one of the best ways to gain authority without pretending to be one.

P.P.S:
Just a heads up, I'll be sending daily emails promoting Magnetic Emails until November 5th.
